The Royal Baby Boy has Arrived

An overjoyed Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are waking up to their first full day as proud parents of a beautiful baby boy, as Britain and much of the world continues to celebrate the birth of a future king.

The world media was on hand since the Duchess was confirmed to be admitted to hospital at 6am on Monday 22nd July. She travelled by car from Kensington Palace to the Lindo Wing of at St Mary's Hospital in Londonwith the Duke of Cambridge. After over 10 hours and with William by her side, Kate gave birth at 4:24pm to a beautiful baby boy, weighing a healthy 8lbs 6oz.  The future king was born at the same hospital in Paddington where Princess Diana had Princes William and Harry. The Royal Household’s official surgeon-gynaecologist, Alan Farthing is the consultant gynaecologist at St Mary’s and assisted with the labour. He was led by the Queen’s own surgeon-gynaecologist, Marcus Setchell.

The birth was announced by a press release sent out from the palace at 8.30pm GMT and then the official announcement was placed on an easel outside Buckingham Palace, for the waiting crowds to see, telling the world that there is a new prince in the British royal family.

The Duke was at the private Lindo Wing of St Mary's Hospital, for the birth and stayed with Kate and the baby overnight. A royal correspondent said it is too early to say whether Kate and her baby son will leave the hospital today, although there is interest that the Duchess will prepare to leave soon.

Now the world is impatiently waiting to see a first glimpse of the future king and to find out the couple's choice of name for their son, with George the bookmakers' favourite, followed by James and Alexander.

KiddiChef.com will be following the next steps of the new born and will be eagerly anticipating the name of the new king and to see how these first years will be for this special baby boy.
